Welcome to Part 4!
We are at our last part of this song! Today we are covering the chorus, AGAIN; however, in this song in particular, the last chorus changes! So we have to recover this section to learn the new parts. This part might seem a little long, but it's also a bit repetitive - so bare with me here.
Have fun singing!

Lesson.
미련하게 means foolishly, and 너무 means too. So paired together - 너무 미련하게 too foolishly. Attached to 너 [you] is the grammar structure -만 which means ONLY. 사랑하다 means to love, but is in the past tense [사랑하 + 였다], then attached to the verb stem is the grammar structure -나 봐 which is used when making an assumption. So: I guess I loved only you too foolishly.
다른 사랑은 꿈도 못 꾸게 하는 너만
다른 is the descriptive form of the verb 다르다 [to be different], and is describing 사랑 [love]. So, 다른 사랑 means a different love. Attached to 사랑 is the topic marker -은 which is marking 사랑 as the topic (the sentence is about this different love). 꿈 means dream, and the particle -도 is attached with the meaning of EVEN. There are two different grammar structures attached to this verb (꿈 꾸다). First, before the verb, you have 못 which is used to mean CAN'T (verb). So, 꿈 못 꾸다 means CAN'T dream. Then, the grammar structure -게 하다 is attached with the meaning of making something happen, or letting something happen - it is then transformed in the descriptive form (+는) to describe 너 [you]. Then attached to 너 is the grammar structure -만 again (meaning ONLY). So, roughly translated: another (different) love, even dream, won't happen by you only. So, in more specific, clear words: Only you who can't let me dream of another love.
너밖에 모르는 바보인데 어쩌라고
너 [you] + 밖 [outside] + 에 [location marker] means outside of you (not including you). 모르는 is the descriptive version of the verb 모르다 which means to not know - describing 바보 [idiot]. The verb used in this sentence is 이다 which means to be/"is." So, so far 너밖에 모르는 바보 이다 means to be an idiot who doesn't know anything (anyone) but you. The grammar structure attached to this sentence is -은데 which is used (in this case) with the meaning of providing background information before asking a question. The question is a fixed expression - 어쩌라고 [what am I supposed to do?]. So, I'm an idiot who knows nothing but you, what am I supposed to do?
지독하게 너무 지독하게 너와 이별하나 봐
Again, we have the title word 지독하게 [severely]. 너무 지독하게 [too severely]. 너[you] + the particle 와 means AND, or in this case WITH [with you]. 이별하다 means to bid farewell, and attached is the grammar structure used to assume again. So translated: I guess we bid farewell too severely.
잘 가란 말이 뭐가 어려워
잘 means well, and 가 is the present tense of the verb 가다 [to go]. The phrase 잘 가 is often used when saying goodbye to somewhere ("go well"). The grammar structure -라는 (란 for short) is used to quote something. So, 잘 가란 말 means the words 잘 가. Adding -이 makes this noun cluster the subject of the rest of the sentence. 뭐 means what and 가 again is a subject marker. 어려워 is the present tense form of the verb 어렵다 [to be difficult]. So, what's hard about saying the words "goodbye/go well."
입술조차 떼지 못하고 머뭇거려
입술 떼다 means to begin to talk/speak. 조차 attached to 입술 [lips] means EVEN or down to. Attached to 떼다 is the grammar structure -못 하다 which means CAN'T do (verb). Then -고 is attached which links verbs and sentences together. 머뭇거려 is the present tense of the verb 머뭇거리다 [to hesitate]. So, (continuing on from the last sentence) what's so hard about saying goodbye that I can't even begin to talk and hesitate.
흉터보다 더 깊이 가슴에 남아
흄터 means a scar, attached is 보다 which means THAN. 더 [more], 깊이 [deeply]. 가슴 means heart, and the location marker -에 is attached which is used with the meaning of in. 남아 is the present tense version of the verb 남다 which means to remain. So, this sentence is translated to: deeper than a scar, remaining inside my heart... (continue onto next sentence)
너를 지울 수 없을 것 같아
너 [you] + 를 [the object marker] marks YOU as the target of the verb - 지우다 [to erase]. The two grammar structure attached to 지우다 is, first, -을 수 없다 which is another way of saying CAN'T, and -을 것 같다 which is another way of saying it seems like. So, it seems like I can't (won't be able to) forget you.
Reading/Comprehension.
미련하게 너무 미련하게 너만 사랑 했나 봐 다른 사랑은 꿈도 못 꾸게 하는 너만 너밖에 모르는 바보인데 어쩌라고 | 지독하게 너무 지독하게 너와 이별하나 봐 잘 가란 말이 뭐가 어려워 입술조차 떼지 못하고 머뭇거려 지독하게 너무 지독하게 너를 이별하나 봐 흉터보다 더 깊이 가슴에 남아 너를 지울 수 없을 것 같아 |
